"What should I eat today?" Raise your hand if you're someone who just glues to delivery apps during the holidays! 🙋♀️
I am a Burger King enthusiast and a 'burger lover' who feels compelled to visit every new gourmet burger spot that opens in the neighborhood. Since the holiday break is long and I happened to have some leftover ground meat from making a previous batch, I thought, "Why not give this a try?" and whipped it up in no time.

But… wow, everyone. This is seriously something. It did take a little time to sauté the onions, but that was a stroke of genius. The flavor that explodes in my mouth is just… insane!

Turning My Home into a Gourmet Restaurant! Homemade Burger Ingredients
Patty ingredients: 700g minced beef, 400g minced pork
Patty seasoning: 1 medium onion, salt, pepper
Toppings: Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cheddar cheese
Sauce: Heinz Burger Sauce (One store-bought sauce guarantees the taste! Total tip, right?)

The single thing that makes a difference in taste! Making sautéed onion hamburger patties
I believe the patty accounts for 90% of the success or failure of making a homemade burger. In particular, the star of today's recipe is the 'sautéed onion'.

Caramelizing Onions: Finely chop the onion, lightly coat a pan with oil, and sauté it until it turns brown. (It takes time, but you must go through this process for the onion's sweetness and umami flavor to explode!)
You must let the sautéed onions cool completely!

Place the cold minced beef (700g) and pork (400g) in a bowl.
Minimal mixing: The key is to add the cooled onions, salt, and pepper, and mix lightly and quickly just enough to combine all the ingredients! If you knead for too long, the meat will become tough!

Adding sautéed onions inside the patty like this is the **'Gourmet Style'**. The sweetness and moisture of the onions permeate the meat, making the patty much moister and more flavorful. It is so much softer than when using only meat! 👍

Shape the patty and press down firmly on the center with your finger. This prevents the center from puffing up while grilling. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to lock in the juices better.

Cooking patties to lock in the juices
Okay, we're almost there! This is the most important moment.
Absolutely safeguard the juices!: Grease a well-heated pan, place the patty on it, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Here is the most important tip! Never press down on the patty with a spatula! All the precious juices will escape.

Cheese is all about timing!: When the patty is almost fully cooked, place a slice of cheese on top and let it melt naturally.

Spread plenty of sauce on a lightly toasted bun, then layer romaine lettuce, a patty, and a tomato, and your burger is complete!

The moment I took a bite, wow... the burst of juicy flavor and the deep taste of the sautéed onions were truly a work of art. 😭 They didn't call it a **'stroke of genius'** for nothing. It tasted just as good as any gourmet burger restaurant!

Making homemade burgers might be a bit of a hassle, but it guarantees a rewarding experience and delicious taste. Why not give the challenge of making the burger of your life this weekend with sautéed onion patties?
