It's a recipe from Auntie Tokkaengi's Housekeeping Diary, and it has a whopping 3.5 million views! 😊

I was really curious too, so I tried making it exactly the same way.
The seasoning was really rich and sweet, so my husband absolutely loved it.
especially The key point is to soak the dried shredded squid in soju.It is.
Having a sweet side dish like this in the winter is a real rice thief, haha.
Let's get started with the stir-fried dried squid strips I made myself! 💕

The point that Mrs. Rabbit emphasized is Just 3 thingsIt was.
✔️ Soaking dried shredded squid with 3 tablespoons of soju – Completely removes fishy smell!
✔️ 3 tablespoons of plum extract – The key to the sweetness is here
✔️ Boil the sauce first and let it cool – This is the real secret tip!
In fact, even culinary researchers say that soaking dried shredded squid in soju softens the texture and improves seasoning absorption!
And the characteristic of this recipe is that the seasoning is rich and sweet.💕

🥗 Ingredients Preparation (2~3 servings)
Main ingredient:
200g white dried squid strips (Please choose white ones at the supermarket)
3 tablespoons of soju (for soaking)
Seasoning (Rich and sweet style!)
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of red pepper powder (adjust to preference)
2 tablespoons brewed soy sauce
Mirim 2T
3 tablespoons of plum extract (the key to sweetness!)
4 tablespoons of gochujang
2 tablespoons corn syrup (for gloss)

Step 1: Soak dried squid strips in soju (2~3 minutes)
Place 200g of dried white squid strips in a bowl and sprinkle 3 tablespoons of soju evenly over them.
Gently mix with your hands to allow the soju to soak into every nook and cranny of the dried squid strips.
You only need to soak it for exactly 2 to 3 minutes!
💡 It's even better if you do it this way!
I set the timer for 3 minutes and prepared the seasoning ingredients in the meantime.
It was much easier once I started managing my time!
Step 2: Make the seasoning and boil (3~4 minutes)

Please add 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of red pepper powder, 2 tablespoons of brewed soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of mirin, 3 tablespoons of plum extract, 45g of gochujang, and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup to a frying pan.
Please simmer gently over low heat while stirring with a spatula.
Once it starts boiling, turn off the heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes!
✔️ Simmer over low heat for only 2 minutes (if boiled for too long, the corn syrup will burn)
✔️ Make sure to let it cool down (the dried squid will cook if it is hot)
You need to let the seasoning cool down to preserve the texture of the dried squid strips 💕
Step 3: Mix the dried squid strips with the seasoning (2 minutes)

Add the dried shredded squid soaked in soju to the cooled seasoning and mix well!
Mix thoroughly with your hands or a spatula so that the seasoning coats every single piece of dried squid, and you're done!

Serve on a plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds, and it's done!
